CHOCOLATE & THE NOSE

In Fall 2007, Vosges Haut-Chocolat's new flagship product was a lavish collection of 20 single-origin chocolates packaged with 48 aromas or raw ingredients with scents inherent to cacao. A book accompanied this packaged sensory experience and described the company's history, instructions for tasting parties and recipes, the science of taste and smell, the history and manufacturing process of chocolate, and information on the single-origin chocolates included in the collection.
The client wanted a very feminine, highly luxurious experience. The book was quite large (about 13" x 16") so we had room to adapt elements of illuminated texts (large drop caps, generous margins) to create a luxury reading experience. I worked with the Creative Director and two other designers on this book.
